State DOT Pays $30K for UST Violations

"A state Department of Transportation (DOT) has agreed to pay a $30,000 penalty to settle alleged violations of underground storage tank (USTs) regulations at 10 facilities operated by the Department’s Division of Highways. As part of the settlement, the Agency has also agreed to statewide improvements of its UST monitoring procedures."

"A Pennsylvania manufacturing company has agreed to pay a $25,000 penalty to settle alleged violations of hazardous waste regulations. Following an inspection by EPA and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, EPA cited the company for Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) violations involving hazardous waste stored at the facility. The wastes included waste solvents, waste acetone, waste heptanes, and universal waste lamps."
